Pock i ned 😉

If you go off the beaten path right easterish of Capitol Reef NP you find yourself like on another planet. Vast rock formation, actually no vegetation and gray and red dominate the scene. Well, also the Mars Society recognized this and put their Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) there. So actually I’ve been to Mars now, right?

A bit further there is Arches NP but I chose not to go with the flow and take the main entry in the south, I approached it from the northwest over a nice gravelroad. Even found a nice place to camp next to this red rock wall – as in the Park it’s crowded and pricey and here, 10 minutes away it’s free.

Speaking about crowded: At Arches there’s A LOT of people, actually you go through the park like in a traffic jam. So just a few photostops and pics of arches only from distance. I hate people 😉
