Was soll ich schreiben?

What should I say? Enormous would describe it best i guess – enormous distances, the street towards the archeological site alone is more than 60km long (mostly as a one lane road). As everything around is a biosphere reservate there isn’t much around (except the super expensive lodge on the junction where the road towards Calakmul begins), so i had to travel another hour from my cabaña.

Inside the Area you walk around 30 min into the wild until you’ll find the first structures – it took me, walking quite fast, about 3 hours to see all. So with riding to and from the site that’s a good daytrip i’d say.

Enormous diversity, not only the buildings and structures but also nature wise. Very overgrown, the high temples are only cleared on one side and most of the smaller buildings are still full with trees and other plants. Pretty hard for good pictures because it’s trees everywhere.

But all of this makes it an emormous rich expreience (muy rico!).

After that my bowl of noodles was well earned!

Next stop will be Bacalar, a town next to a lagoon with the same name – hotspot for all travellers and backbackers, let’s see…
